I know it's been awhile since I last blogged... I sat down two hours ago to write about all we have been up to lately and well, I am now caught up on facebook, have watched an episode of my favorite show, Bones, edited a few photos, and got some ideas for Grace's birthday cake. However, after two failed attempts at a post, I am still at a loss for words tonight. Maybe a few pictures of Grace will make up for my lack of wit.

Fun in the Sun
This past weekend (as Joe so eloquently blogged about), Grace and I headed down to Santa Clarita, California to visit my wonderful friend Heather. I was a little worried about flying by myself with Grace, but she was amazing. I got compliments from everyone who sat next to us, the way there and the way back, on how well she did. On our flight back, we sat right in the middle of the University of Oregon baseball team. The three behind us entertained Grace the whole way. It was great. Go Ducks!
My sister was also able to join us, though we didn't make it on the same flights. Two of my best friends, my daughter, and amazing weather was the perfect combination. Even though I got sick, I had so much fun; and Grace was so spoiled with all the attention she got. All-in-all, it was a great trip. Wish I could afford to do it more often.
This was Grace's first time to actually sit in the sand (every other time was too cold and windy), so of course she had to try some.
One bite was enough. :)

The Weight of the World
I, Joe, do hereby blog for the second time.
My lovely wife and daughter...
have embarked upon a treacherous journey...
to the barren, desolate depths of the land of Southern California...
In the absence of their presence, I am left to...

He is Risen!
5The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."
Matthew 28:5-7
